Newsletter May

Hi everyone!
A warm hello there to all our clients and furry friends. A winter blast has hit us this week bringing lots of cold weather!
This month’s newsletter is full of tips to keep your lovely dogs warm and helpful tips for winter grooming.
We all like to keep our furry friends warm over winter, especially our older pets and ones with shorter, thinner fur. Here at ShowDogs we have a wide range of winter coats, jumpers and vests to suit all breeds. Our staff are on hand to help with any questions regarding sizing and trends!
Along with winter clothing comes winter grooming. We still need to maintain our dogs coats over the winter period. The coats tend to grow slower but still need to be regularly brushed. Putting your dog in winter clothing may cause the hair to rub and matt a little underneath. We suggest regular bathing and brushing to help maintain those beautiful coats underneath the winter woollies. We are currently running winter bath specials so please enquire at reception to book in. I’m sure your dog would appreciate a nice winter spa at ShowDogs.
Just like us humans our lovable dogs sometimes need an extra bit of warmth over winter. We have each client’s grooming details on our ShowDogs systems but if you would like to have a longer groom for your dog please feel free to chat to our groomers about possible options over the winter months. We can advise you as to what may be suitable for your dog and also for you to maintain.
Showdogs are very pleased to be the first in the bay to offer creative grooming! This is now hugely popular in the America and the UK. Tatiana and the groomers are now fully trained colouring, stencilling and other areas of creative grooming…..your imagination is our creation!
We now have a number of clients who come in for regular grooms with colour, from a simple tail splash to the full body stencil. If you are interested in this fabulous part of grooming and would like a bit of colour for winter please come in and have a chat with our groomers here at ShowDogs.
As most of our clients are aware we stock Royal Canin food here at Showdogs. This food comes highly recommended. There are various types and all breed specific also catering for the young puppy to the more mature years. We have found the Dermacomfort very good for dogs with skin allergies. Skin allergies are often dietary related and many of our clients have now given us very positive feedback from the food.
We have a loyalty card system in place allowing you to have one bag free after every 9 purchased. If you would like some more information regarding Royal Canin please come in and enquire with any of the ShowDogs team.
A quick reminder to all our clients, Ezybook is now a fast way to book your dogs groom online. We are offering a 10% discount for all Ezybook appointments made in June!
Showdogs now accepts volunteers. If you know of anybody interested in doing a few hours a week volunteering just phone up, we accept volunteers from 16 years old so just call and ask for Tatiana. Please note duties include dog handling, walking and cleaning.
We want to know how we are doing and how we can improve your experience here at Showdogs. If you wish to send us some feedback, please email us on
Yours sincerely,
Tatiana Manion and Showdogs Team
